Name: Patty Woods

Tell us a little about yourself:
I am a military wife on 19 years with three boys. I started sculpting over 20
years ago when I started making miniatures. I love visiting new places and
learning about the area I’m in, which helps when you move as often as the
military wants you to :c)

What is your business name and web address:

What inspired you to become a work at home mom:
I have always loved creating something with my hands and this enabled me to
stay home with my kids while contibuting a little to our fun money.

Tell us a little about your business:
I create hand sculpted portraiture and gifts. I love creating something from
nothing. My newest venture is in creating items for consultants to help
promote their businesses.

Is there any advice that you would like to share with other women that are
interested in working from home:

Yes, time management. I have learned that the hard way and am still trying to
apply it when I get involved in my creations.

What has been the most effective advertising method for you:
Word of mouth. I constantly have to start over again as far as a physical
customer base. Plus with my products, a person has a better appreciation when
an item is held.

Can you share with us one negative business experience that you learned
from:

Yes, I went into a show that cost a lot to enter only to have it rained out.
When it’s a big expense, think about going into it with someone else and share
the cost. Ibought merchandise and haf to get insurance in addition to the
entry fee. I’m still recovering from the loss.

Do you have any specials going on that you would like to share with our
