An easy way to get started in internet marketing is by creating an e-course that relates to the service or product you want to offer to your target market. The most popular forms of information products are e-courses and e-books. You can create an e-course that is any length from 10 to 20 lessons. E-courses are very popular because they are easily accessible to people and online knowledge seekers. The e-course is easily downloaded and the buyer does not have to wait 3-7 days for the course discs and tapes to arrive in the post.
You can create an e-course on any single topic you want to write and teach. If you have a website of your own that is filled with content, you can sell an e-course with specified information that your target market might enjoy. The average person does not have much free time in the day so they would rather make a payment and have the information and lessons at their fingertips then waiting. People tend to want all of their information in one place instead of having to search for bits and pieces everywhere.
When you decide on what you want to teach your audience about, you can then start to plan the content of the e-course. Sit down and brainstorm different topics you would like to comment on within the e-course. Breaking up each bit you write will make it a lot easier for you. If you plan to teach 10 lessons then think of the e-course as 10 mini-chapters. Try and write 1 mini-chapter (lesson) a day and create your e-course within 10 days.
E-courses can be written with any type of word processing software, but by the time you want people to buy and read it, you have to make the course easily readable. PDF documents are especially helpful because readers find them easy to read. People can download Adobe Acrobat for free and be able to read the PDF file they have bought from you. You can find a variety of ways to convert your course file to a PDF file such as Google docs.
You can either choose to sell your e-course from your own website to compliment your products or content, or you can find an online retailer that specializes in digital products such as Clickbank.com. They can promote your course in a variety of ways. You can also offer your course for free from your website to increase your traffic each day.

Interesting reading! I am wondering how would I sell an e-course (paying procedure) which is delivered via email in one pdf-file per week?
And how could I protect it from being copied?
With a one piece e-book that is easier, but how with several parts?
Have you looked into a program called Amember? I believe it could be setup to do what you mentioned in your comment.
Thank you, Wendy! I’ve checked out their website and will give it a try. I think that is what I need. Thanks again, Hannelore
