Can you hurt your sales if you give away information?

It might seem contradictory, but if you give away some information it might help your sales increase. People want information and if you give them something to go on you can peak their interest. They will then want more information and will pay to get it. When people are interested in learning about something they will most likely perform a Google search. They will get many results from this search and you want to be the website they click upon. People usually scan websites and do not read every single thing on a page.
Many people are very careful when searching the internet. They may be extremely interested in the product you offer but they will want to know they are getting their money’s worth. It is good to give some free information in the beginning to create a level of trust between you. If someone is satisfied with the information you have provided they will begin to see you as an expert and they will want to become your customer. Create a special report from some of the e-book you created and let your visitors read some for free. If you created a course that has both audio and print materials you can take a sample from that information and make a mini e-course for your visitors to enjoy.
The main idea is to give your visitors something to go on and to become interested in. Usually once they are interested, they will want to come back to your website. When you offer free information do not forget to ask your visitors to subscribe to your newsletter, e-course or tips. Then once they are signed up you will begin to have a mailing list. You can market more of your information and products through future emails. There are so many ways in which you can attract your visitors, get them interested, and get them to return. The main thing is to give them a sample of what you can offer them. Let them know exactly how your special product or information service can benefit them and help them with their own situations and business. As soon as they know your product or information is valuable, you can be sure that they will stat buying your services. People do not like the hard sales man approach anymore and it is smart just to let them become curious on their own time.
