Useful Gmail Tip
When you use Gmail, you gotta re-wire your brain a little to get the most out of it. For example, most of us are familiar with columns in our email readers. There are subject columns, sender, read, unread, date etc. Clicking the header of these columns sorts the emails in the order we want.
I was doing some spring cleaning and wanted to delete all unread mail. Hey, if I never got to read them after 1 month or more I must not miss that much. But the problem was, how do I pull up all my unread emails in Gmail to process them? I couldn’t find a button or something to click on that will do it. Then I found the answer – why it’s using search of course. If you type is:unread in the search box and hit search mail, you’ll pull up all the unread messages in your in box.
Also, if you want to sort (filter is a better word really) emails within a certain label, you’d type label:labelname keyword. There are a lot of very useful advance search operators for Gmail. You can find them here.
