Let Market Research Come To You

Looking at some of my earliest blog posts, I was reminded of a PDF I wrote about using a website called PubSub for market research. PubSub was one of the earliest blog aggregators. They help you track what’s being said in the blogosphere and had neat little time charts so you can tell how popular the keyword you want to monitor is doing over a certain period of time.

Well, I believe PubSub is no longer active - their website won’t come up for me. Today, there are many more options - thankfully. If you’ve ever wondered if a market is viable, or you’re already in a market but stuck on what to write in your next article. Maybe you can’t think of what to blog about next, or you just want to see what people think of your product or you ;) then it’s a good thing to monitor what is being said in the blog world.

You could use Google Alerts which is free and it will send you email notifications each time it finds something matching what you want to track. Track names, domains, URLs, or any keyword you’re interested in.
